Dec 14-16 The Magic of Movies

line 8 supervillain大壞蛋、大反派

這個字是由super+villain結合而來的。
大家可能忘記了，在Romeo and Juliet裡，
Tybalt在跟Romeo挑釁的時候，就罵他：Thou art a villain!

line 1 venture冒險去做...

意思跟risk很接近喔！
同時，上一頁第七行以及這一頁的第二行有個adventure這個字，
是名詞，「冒險」的意思。你注意到了嗎？

line 8 father-to-be準爸爸

這個很常見了吧？bride-to-be就是準新娘啦！
講到這個，順便講一下另一個常見的- in-laws(姻親)

find + O + OC這個句型又出現啦！！！！
除了我們在課堂上反覆看過的OC以V-ing(主動)或p.p.(被動)形式呈現以外，
這邊告訴你，也可以用介系詞片語喔！
另外，populated也是省略了which is的分詞修飾。

populate這個字我們是第一次介紹，稍微看一下例句吧！

The town is populated by many immigrants.

=There are many immigrants living in the town.

= Many immigrants live/reside in the town.

我們如果說

The city is highly populated.表示The city has dense population.

thrust這個字一樣有不少意思：點進來看看吧！

line 14 stutter, stammer都是口吃、結巴的意思。

line 20 star的用法記得嗎？

flame意思是火焰，例如like a moth to a flame表示「飛蛾撲火」
有一首經典老歌叫做Eternal Flame(永恆之火)
然後這個字很妙，inflammable也是易燃的！

舉一反三，first-place TV program表示第一名的電視節目

line 14 respectively個別地、各自地

the可有可無，google的結果是兩種都有人用喔
