第七課

1. Joseph冒著生命的危險阻止老闆做出錯誤的決定

Joseph took/ran the risk of his life to stop his boss from making the wrong decision.
stop 人 from V-ing = prevent/keep 人from V-ing

2. 100萬是一個以1開頭後面接6個0的數字

One million is a number/figure that starts with 1 follwed by 6 zeros.

3. 除了鼓勵他的學生好好用功，這個老師還要求他的學生遵守校規

On top of encouraging his students to study hard, the teaher also required them to obey/follow/observe the school rules.
除了：besides, in addition to, other than, aside from, apart from都可以

4. 這些員工工作時樂在其中，因為他們花10％的工作時間作一些有趣的事

These employers enjoy themselves at work because they spend 10% of their working time doing something fun.

5. 儘管有些不愉快的經驗，Janet仍相信在職場上兩性平等

Despite some unhappy experiences, Janet still believes in gender equality in the workplace.
despite也可寫in spite of，後面要接名詞，
我真的不想再重複這麼基本的觀念了，拜託大家！

第八課

1. 這個將軍命令所有的士兵注意

The general commanded that all the soldiers pay attention.

2. 今早我一直到鬧鐘響了才醒過來

I didn't wake up until the alarm clock went off this morning.
Not until the alarm clock went off this morning did I wake up.
It was not until the alarm clock went off that i woke up.
這個不會試試看！

3. 由於她的努力，Helen Keller克服所有的困難並成為一個傑出的作家

By virtue of her efforts, Helen Keller rose above all the difficulties and became an excellent/prodigious/exceptional/outstanding writer.
由於：because of, due to, owing to, on account of, as a result of
其他補充快去看你們文法講義！裡面有補充喔！

4. 信不信由你，這位有名的模特兒以前超過200磅

Believe it or not, the famous model was more than 200 pounds in weight.
Believe it or not, the famous model once weighed over 200 pounds.

5. 直昇機必須盡快派出去救援困在山中的登山客，這是生死攸關的事

The helicopters have to be sent out to rescue the climers in the mountains as soon as possible.  This is a matter of life or death.

第九課

1.我們的建議在團體中引起強烈反彈

Our suggestions were met with strong opposition in the group.

suggestion當然可以寫advice，但注意advice不可數，後面接單數動詞。

團體寫group是比較直接的翻譯，寫team也還算可以。 

2.我的媽媽是如此偉大以致於沒有人能取代她的地位 

My mother is so great that no one can take her place.

你自己的媽媽你也可以寫Mother，大寫表示只有你自己的媽媽。

take her place寫replace her也可以。

3.要是Ella當時沒有大聲尖叫，我已經被車撞倒了。

If Ella had not screamed at that moment, I would have been hit by the car.

因為是與過去事實相反的假設，一定要有had+p.p., would have + p.p.

at that moment可省略，因為這個句型本身隱含了過去、當時的意義，

或寫成then也行。（on the moment就不行喔！一定要at！）

4.昨晚媽媽直到幫我們蓋好被子後才就寢

Mom didn't go to bed until she tucked us in last night.

Not only Mom tucked us in last night did she go to bed.

It was not until Mom tucked us in that she went to bed.

算是我拜託大家了，考試如果考出來，這個千萬不能錯啊，

錯的人我實在很想叫你罰抄兩百遍！

5.在開始她的表演事業前，May依賴她父母的收入過生活

Before beginning her performing career, May relied on her parents' income.

無話可說，income、means都可以，然後rely on可以代換count on和depend on實在沒有什麼好說的了。

6.Joan不再怯場或對於她的表演感到焦慮。當她在舞台上演奏鋼琴時，反而感到輕鬆自在

Joan no longer had stage fright or felt anxious about her performance.  Instead, when she was on the stage, she felt at ease.

at ease, at home都是輕鬆自在，祝大家考試的時候都feel at ease而且還考得很好！

7.我的手打字打到快要抽筋了XDD 

My hand is almost having a cramp. LOL
